Philosophy

My work intersects research, impact, public engagement, and creative expression to understand and demonstrate how everyday desires for development and change move between spaces where they are studied and places where they are lived.

This forms the basis of the questions I explore across the interconnected worlds of scholarship, creativity, civic action and faith.

Through what I describe as the convergence of RICA – Research, Impact, Creativity, and Activism, I explore, seek to influence, how people experience well-governed living.

Bolu Ajibola Professional

Professional journey

My professional experience spans research, impact development, and international consultancy, with a focus on translating knowledge into practice and policy. From being a Graduate and Administrative Assistant at Redeemers University, Nigeria, whilst I completed my National Youth Service in 2019, to being a research and impact manager at the University of Leeds, UK, I have contributed towards optimising research performance and productivity. In my ongoing role at the University of Leeds I contribute to shaping research strategies, strengthening pathways through which research can inform policy, practice, and real-world change beyond academia, as well as promoting impact literacy. My successes in the field of research and impact development reflect my commitment to translating knowledge generated through research into tangible societal benefit.
Beyond working in academic institutions, I have contributed to research and consultancy projects with organisations such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA), Banyan Global, Open Society Foundations, and Yiaga Africa, among others. I have worked on issues ranging from digital governance to humanitarian coordination, development policy, and social movement solidarities.

Research meets creativity

WHERE RESEARCH MEETS CREATIVITY

Besides academic writing and social research, I explore ideas through creative expressions such as poetry, spoken word, and music. Some of these works engage themes like social change, solidarity, and political imagination, while others draw on deeper reflections about faith. I recognise these creative bodies as capable of resonating with audiences beyond academia, and through which I can stir new reflections on the moral and civic questions shaping public life.
One goal

ONE GOAL. ONE PHILOSOPHY

Across all these experiences – from research to creative practice and public engagement – I have been motivated by a core objective: contributing to deeper understanding of how societies navigate questions of governance, collective action, and change.
When evidence meets creativity, renewed knowledge to drive meaningful change emerges
